The 60th Campion reunion committee met in August of last year and decided that we should have a reunion of our class on August 22, 23, and 24th of this year 2014.
While it is hard to believe that 60 years have passed since our departure from that special school we have fond or mixed memories of times long past but not forgotten.
The plan is to meet at Lake Geneva, Ill which is out side of Chicago on the border of Wisconsin in the lake region. Moose Adler has graciously offered his lake home to be the gathering place on Friday August 22 around 2 PM for a barbecue, pontoon rides, fishing, swimming or reading a nice book. The participants can make reservations at the Geneva Inn (N2009 S. Lake Shore Dr., Geneva, WI) 262-248-5690 or the Abby (269 Fontana Blvd. Fontana, WI) 855-261-1569. Both hotels run about $250 a night in season.
On Saturday after breakfast at all the hotels, all the ladies can meet downtown Lake Geneva to shop in groups or sight see on their own. In the afternoon there is a lovely boat ride to be had around Lake Geneva where you will see many mansions of the wealthy people who built them in the 30/40’s. The men who wish to play golf can play at the Evergreen course (10 minutes from Moose’s house).
Saturday is going to be the big event @ the Hunt Club in the French County Inn or a private room at one of the hotels. This will be our reunion dinner where tall tales will be told of days of old.
Sunday all are welcome to Mass in the Grass at 10AM but if you want a seat you should arrive @9:45. This is a wonderful experience to hear mass outdoors at the Church at Lake Wandawega, of RT 12 in Elkhorn.
Please take the time to look up these lakes etc. on map quest and your car should have a GPS to find you way around.
