ANNUAL ALL CLASS REUNION/GOLF TOUR

BY: George

October 10, 2001
I just learned about this from Alan Krieg, who lives in Prairie and who
has attended this event. Alan referred me to Jon Kaber '74, who is the
main organizer of the event, together with 4 other members of a committee.

Starting about 6 years ago, there has been one weekend each year for
Campion alumni to gather at Prairie du Chien. The next such gathering will
be June 1,2,3 of 2002. It is billed as a "golfing weekend", but one need
not golf to participate and benefit. Folks arrive on Saturday or Sunday.
On Sunday, there is a cocktail party and social hour at Jon Kaber's
restaurant (Kaber's Supper Club). On Monday, there is a golf tournament at
the Prairie du Chien Country club (18 holes), from 9 AM to 2 PM, which ends
the festivities. During the weekend, folks can enjoy area attractions,
including a gambling boat. Jon says "it is a real hoot." Everybody has a
great time.

Accommodations: The committee reserves a block of rooms at a nearby motel.
Jon says that there is plenty of motel space available at that time of
year.

Each year the list of attendees grows dramatically. Last time, there were
over 200 people.

The news of this event is spread by word of mouth. Jon has no email
address nor web site. He sends out a mailing every January to those who
have asked to be contacted. (I asked him to contact me next time.) Jon
says that after you are contacted, you must respond with a yea or nay, or
you will be dropped from the mailing list.

If you would like Jon to add you to his mailing list, you can contact him
