    Amusing History by Mike...

The band was initially called "The 69'ers" (for the year we would graduate college ... yeah sure!).

Subsequently, prudence demanded a name change after Fr. Kalb read/bellowed the riot act in the Showcase Theatre at Kostka Hall concerning the use of "69" in any manner, shape, or form. We had to run ... not walk ... to the Campion Knight staff room in the basement of Kostka that night and pull our photograph from the galley proof of our senior yearbook and replace a few days later with a hastily composed drum head name change and photo taken in the old gym by our rehearsal room. Had our photo appeared with "The 69'ers" emblazoned on Peter's bass drum ... we would have been given the heave ho BJ on the BL Zephyr. At any rate, we re-named and won the talent show in the spring of '65 performing "Louie Louie".
